Few must see movies.

I’ve seen some very good movies recently. If you get an opportunity to watch any of these, don’t let go.

1. Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Audrey Hepburn’s portrayal of a young American socialite(call girl?) is just brilliant. She plays an extroverted woman, but who’s out of touch of her real feelings and dreams.

Must not miss her rendition of ‘Moon River’ on the fire escape.

2. 12 angry men.  A jury has to decide the fate of a teenager accused of murdering his father. Henry Fonda plays a jury member who tries to convince the rest of the jury on is point of view. The whole movie is shot in a single room.

3. Mar Adentro. A Spanish movie about a tetraplegic who pleads for euthanasia. Wonderful portrayal of the protagonist. The real beauty is that philosophy takes center stage in discussions, but you don’t feel it’s weight. i.e. You don’t get bugged nor bored :).

4. The fabulous destiny of Amelie Poulain. A movie about a shy, introverted girl, who one day decides to do good things for people around her. It’s filmed in a very idyllic Paris. It’s a real treat for the eyes and ears. Not only French is such a pleasure to hear, the soundtrack is amazing. It was voted the second favorite movie of Australians in 2006. It simply means, you’ll love it.

Watch the scene where Amelie is trying her best not to giggle while her partner is having sex with her. Just hilarious!
